About Green Earth Farm
Green Earth Farm is located at 7900 feet in Colorado’s San Luis Valley. The farm is surrounded by wilderness, between an ancient seabed and one of the world’s oldest and largest cauldera. Our rich soils, pure water and air, and intense climate produces potent herbs, sweet tender vegetables and nutritious grains. We are a Colorado certified organic farm that produces a wide variety of medicinal and culinary herbs.
Green Earth Farm is co-managed by founders Thomas and Lillian McCracken, who both have extensive backgrounds in sustainable agriculture and a long term commitment to environmental preservation. Thomas was a founding member of Healing Light, a holistic health community dedicated to the education and practice of alternative healing and organic farming. He was also a senior partner in Cottage Industries, a forestry collective responsible for thousands of acres of reforestation throughout the U.S.
Lillian has been a student and practitioner of the healing arts with a focus on herbalism since the late 1960s. She has studied with many of the leading herbal practitioners and traditional healers of our time. She joined Tom in his life work at Healing Light and Cottage Industries when they met at Healing Waters, an alternative health retreat and education center. They later created Green Earth Forestry to continue their work of reforestation.
In 1986 they were managers of the World Garden project in Crestone, Colorado. The following year they started Green Earth Farm and became founding members of the Colorado Organic Producers’ Association. We are proud to be entering our 24th year of organic production at the farm.
During Lillian’s 44 years of training and personal experiance with herbs she has created 2 lines of products that nourish and heal the body and soul. The A’Terra line consists of skin care products such as Cremes, Lotions and Balms, and the Earth Garden Botanical line of herbal tea blends are for everyday enjoyment or occasional discomfort and specific use.
